 http://www.number2.com Sign up to access SAT tutorials – I used a fake address – lots of options – student progress is tracked – teachers can sign on as mentors for a student or class.

 http://businessmajors.about.com/cs/quizzes/a/VocA100q.htm a busy page, but progressively harder words – A quiz, B quiz, C quiz – how far does it go?  I liked this one a lot – learned SEVERAL new words!!  And that was just on the “A” list.

Math, gr 3-6: http://aimsedu.org/aimskids/ipuzzles/hurkle/hurkle.html Find the Hurkle!  Nice game (kind of like the classic  Battleship game)  that uses ordered pairs as well as north, south, east, west.  Good practice game for reinforcing the X and Y axis.

Did you know (and some of you do, but…)  

You can easily change your passwords. 

At SBSD, we have several passwords--one for GroupWise, one for the network, one for Schoolmaster, possibly one for Schoolmaster Gradebook, and possibly one for the reservation database system. Below are the commands that enable you to change your password in each. For more extensive directions, click here.

  • GroupWise:  Select Tools menu: Options…, Double-Click the [Security] button 

  • Novell/Network: 

    • Windows 98:  Select Start menu: Settings: Control Panel and Double-Click the "Passwords" icon 

    • Windows XP: <Ctrl> <Alt> <Delete> and click the [Change Password…] button 

  • Schoolmaster:  Select Edit menu: Change Password… 

  • Schoolmaster Gradebook:  Select Edit menu: Change Password… 

  • Reservation Database (MS Only):  Give Margaret your username and desired new password
