SBHS has been informed that United States Marine Mark Evnin, a member of South Burlington Class of 2000, died while serving his country in Iraq.
As a school community we must pull together to help Mark's family and each other pull through what will be a difficult time. Mark was a K-12 South Burlington School District student who attended Chamberlin Elementary and Tuttle Middle School. School district flags will remain at half mast for a period of time to be determined by the Superintendent.
At SBHS Mark was a hard working student who was involved in Athletics, and excelled in Electronic Arts and Imaging. He was very well liked by students and staff alike. Our thoughts are with his fellow Marines, his family, and the SBHS Class of 2000.
As events in the world create emotional responses from all of us -- parents, students alumni and staff -- please know that our entire school staff, particularly our guidance department, are available to assist our alumni, as well as the students and families of South Burlington.
